Ovation Guitar anyone?
by Simon ini used to play the guitar quite a bit but haven't practiced seriously for quite a few years (and left my guitar in the uk when we moved over here).. yesterday i decided i should get myself a guitar again so i popped into a music store and had a strum on a few.. the ovation guitars seemed really nice and not too expensive.
does anyone have one or have any experience of them?
i would love the electic one they do that can also sound acoustic but can't really justify spending so much so would probably get a regular wood / round-backed one.. thanks.

do not buy an ovation. the neck/body joints are weak and have a tendency to fold. complete waste of time/money.

: )
by Narkissos inthis may not be my last post on jwd but i feel the time has come for some kind of "goodbye thread" nonetheless.. i first ventured on (french-speaking) xjw forums in 2003, when my own jw past was already old history and practically meaningless to any of my acquaintances in so-called "real life".
looking back, beyond mere curiosity i certainly felt the need to revisit this almost-forgotten chapter of my life story.
what especially drew me to jwd and made me stick to it for the past five years was undoubtedly the extraordinary diversity of this board, and the wealth of experience, information and reflection it offered.

'LOVING' JW RAPIST GETS 3-20 YEARS
by Mary inthis just warms the coggles of my heart to know that this scum sucking pig is still described as a "good man" who "attends the jehovah's witnesses meetings" regularly and helps "build kingdom halls".
the fact that he's a rapist with an extremely short fuse is a tiny flaw in an otherwise perfect character: .

most witnesses would say that they do not tolerate predators because he has been DF'ed. they would actually use this as a POSITIVE example of their policies.
oh, and that watchtower paragraph on sunday made me turn red at the hall. its unbelievable to me that they have the intense hubris to print that.

Fibonacci numbers and 144,000
by Beta Male inthe twelfth fibonacci number is 144, since they start counting the sequence with zero.
that just seems an neat "coincidence" eh?
all this religious stuff has its roots in the study of mathematics and the stars, doesnt it?

Parental FAILURE.
by easyreader1970 inone thing i really hate.
the wbts basically says that if your child does not grow up a productive members of jehovah's witnesses, in spite of everything else they may be capable of achieving, you fail as a parent.
this bothers me.

something else too; the inferior conjunctions of Venus, also known as Lucifer, or "light bringer", form a five-pointed star shape in relation to earth. Thusly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Venus_pentagram.png
btw, thanks for knowing what i was getting at, James.
